PART TWO TREATING CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY INCLUDING ULTRASOUND THERAPY

Adding to the previous discussion of ways to treat and make carpal tunnel syndrome feel better. Physical therapy is sometimes used for carpal tunnel syndrome. One of the physical therapy methods used is ultrasound. "Ultrasound therapy may be beneficial in the longer term management of carpal tunnel syndrome. A double-blind, randomized trial found that compared with "sham ultrasound" treatment (control), 20 sessions of carpal tunnel ultrasound therapy administered over approximately seven weeks resulted in significantly greater improvement of symptoms at two weeks, seven weeks, and six months. However, a smaller study showed no benefit for this treatment".
