Although there is no chance of contracting botulism from Botox injections, there are some risks associated with the procedure. There is a small risk of eyelid drooping (ptosis) and slight puffiness following treatment. The incidence of ptosis is about 5% but always ask your doctor what problems they have had with treatments as this will differ between doctors.

If too much toxin is injected, for example (which has happened in the past) it can cause problems or if it is injected into the wrong facial area.
