If you follow this blog you may know that one of my avocations besides medicine is digital photography and digital cameras (and if you don't I'm telling you now). Here is an illuminating article from the NYT about how to get better pictures and photos even if you have one of those "point and shoot cameras". There are so many things you can do with digital photography ,it's limited only by your imagination.
"The not-so-dirty, not-so-little secret about even the simplest point-and-shoot cameras is that they work best if you know just a tiny bit about what’s going on when you snap a picture. Otherwise, even scads of megapixels and image stabilization and other ballyhooed features can’t save you from overexposed images and washed-out colors".
