LOSE YOUR JOB..JOIN THE CLUB..HOW TO LOSE YOUR JOB BUT SAVE YOUR MARRIAGE

WHAT IS THE EFFECT OF JOB LOSS ON COUPLES AND MARRIAGE AND HUSBAND WIFE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS?

Why do people fall in love with each other? What makes one couple stay together through thick and thin when another couple has a partner than runs for the exit soon after the love boat springs a leak? It's a topic that has fascinated me since, well always. The NY Times has thrown some light on the subject with the story of a married couple who are feeling the financial storm that is blowing all around us and how they are coming through it.

In December, 2007 Scott Berry lost his job as a technology analyst at a boutique investment firm. "He immediately looked for a new position but found opportunities puzzlingly elusive." His plan for his next job has been (temporarily ) deferred. "So Scott and Tracey Berry have faced a complex series of choices about work, money and the roles and responsibilities each would assume in the family. Their goals: to keep their domestic economy from mirroring the national one-and to stay married."
